Press Release March 2015

Pedestrian struck down crossing the road by “hit and run” motorcycle

A pedestrian who was involved in an accident after she was hit by a motorcycle has received £12,500 in compensation.

Laura, from Hertfordshire, was crossing the road near a school on her commute to work by a motorcycle knocking her onto a car and onto the floor.

The motorcyclist did not have compulsory motor insurance.

Despite the police being notified and preparing a police accident report they took no action against the motorcyclist.

Laura was able to claim against the motorcyclist and the Motor Insurer’s Bureau in court proceedings taken by PI Support.

Laura suffered injury to her back and a minor head injury and scarring.

PI Support were able to settle the claim out of court.

Laura said “Thank you PI Support for all your help in this case. You have been so easy to approach especially with all of the legal terms. You gave me helpful and clear advice without the legal jargon. I hope neither me or my family are ever involved in an accident in the future however if anyone ever needs legal advice I will most certainly recommend you.

Driving without insurance is a criminal offence. Accidents involving drivers that do not have compulsory motor insurance account for 130 deaths and over 26,000 injuries a year. Thankfully there is recourse and PI Support will be able to help you should you ever be unfortunate to have an accident with an uninsured motorist.
