Press release February 2015

has secured compensation for a volunteer injured during service

A volunteer for the RNLI who sustained injuries to his knee and broken ribs has received compensation with help from PI Support.

Mr Masters, from Southend on Sea, was off from work for over 12 months due to ongoing knee pain. Mr Masters lost a substantial sum of money due to lost earnings as a self-employed labourer due to his injuries.

Mr Masters was riding a cycle along Southend Pier during a training exercise for the RNLI when his cycle slipped over on water due to an individual who was spraying the pier with a hose without any warning signs.

Employers admitted fault for the accident and settled the claim.

PI Support secured a settlement of £30,000 for Mr Masters.

Mr Masters, father of two children, said:

I am pleased to have received compensation for the pain and suffering from my injuries and my lost income. This will go some way to helping my family get back to some normality.”

I am now back at work, and I have fully recovered from my injuries

I am extremely happy with the work PI Support did on my behalf. Amazing service and great advice. PI Support helped me all the way with my case.
